S.M.A.R.T University Celebrates 1-year Anniversary Graduation!
Education organization for people with intellectual disabilities experiences great success from the past year
San Antonio, TX: In one week’s time (on April 20th), S.M.A.R.T. University will say goodbye to its 2019 graduating class in the only way possible… with a picnic! All are invited to this grand affair. A massive all-you-can-eat style barbecue and buffet (with various other options for those with dietary restrictions) will be provided by Walmart, S.M.A.R.T.’s gracious partner since it was founded in 2018. Currently enrolled students, their families, all members of the surrounding community, and potential new participants are welcome to attend. There will be fun, food, games, and at the end, a special raffle drawing for the secret grand prize, the value of which is upwards of $100 by the way! In addition, each one of the graduating class members has prepared a special showcase of skills learned from S.M.A.R.T. programs, including but not limited to, paintings, quilts, musical performance, interpretive arts, and many more.
Various heads of staff will also have prepared introductory booths detailing the specifics of some of S.M.A.R.T.’s many programs such as the standard science, math, athletics, history, and art, but also more unique studies as customer service skills, social psychology, photography, and music. This event will also mark S.M.A.R.T.’s introduction of a Spanish program to help potential participants who may not speak English, and this new program will also receive its own booth as part of the festivities. If you’re not a currently enrolled participant, the price of attendance tickets will be set at $15, and if you are, the price is only $5 (although you should have already known about this event). Children enter free, and raffle tickets are $10. Experience all the fun S.M.A.R.T. University has to offer!
