Op-Ed Blog Post: Seguin Youth Center

The number of youth between ages 5-18 in Seguin is 7,379. Where do all of these kids go after school, or during the weekend when their parents are working? There aren’t a lot of safe places for youth to go and hang out in Seguin. The options are limited, but that is where the Seguin Youth Center will come in. Seguin Youth Center’s goal is to provide a safe space for kids to learn, grow, and have fun. Some of the youth programs in Seguin are exclusive so the Seguin Youth Center will be a great place for everyone to feel included. Seguin Youth Center has many goals and plans for the future. We plan on expanding our classrooms and adding more classes for kids to participate in. We also plan on having family night, talent shows, game nights, and dances to bring more awareness and help raise money for our non-profit.
Some may argue that Seguin does not need a youth center, but Seguin Youth Center would beg to differ. Seguin Youth Center will provide a safe atmosphere for kids to learn, hang out with friends, and grow.  We will ensure this by having staff lead and watch over the kids, we welcome all youth to encourage their friends to come or make new friends at the center, and we plan on helping the youth grow by offering classes to help them learn more. Seguin Youth Center is something for the whole family. Parents wont have to worry about where their kids are or what they’re doing, and kids will be having fun.
