S.M.A.R.T. Pitch Letter

Jamie Stockwell

March 27th, 2018

Mr. Stockwell,
During your latest comments regarding The Express, you mentioned your numbers have been steadily falling. That is due in part to the steady rise of technology, but a portion is, like you mentioned, The Express’ lack of new content concerning our city. I’d like to offer a part of the solution. We have an exciting Grand Opening that will be sure to revitalize the community and challenge our thoughts about minorities.
I represent S.M.A.R.T. University, which is a new organization committed to changing the reality for those with intellectual disabilities in the San Antonio area. We are focusing on training our participants with the goal to place them in jobs in our community where they can be contributing and self providing members of society. San Antonio will be excited to hear about what we are hoping to do for our economy and our society. I invite you to spread the word.
Our Grand Opening is Saturday, April 14th at our BRAND NEW facility located in Universal City. This is a family event where people of all walks and ages can come learn about what we are doing. This is especially important for families of intellectually disabled individuals because that are able to come see what kind of programs we offer their children. We will have games, food, tours, and even hands on examples of some of our trainings. Fun and educational for the whole family!

I thank you for your consideration of this event,
Kara Peterson
Co-Director, S.M.A.R.T University
