Our current program is
the creation of a drive-in movie theater in Seguin. In the future, programs we
plan to hold include themed movie nights, discount nights, and vintage car
shows.
In addition to our regular services, we also plan on
holding themed movie nights. On these nights, we would play a few movies that
correspond to a theme, such as zombie movie night or Disney movie night. On these
nights we could also offer patrons specific themed snack items that relate to
the night’s theme. These themed movie nights would not need additional funding,
as they will require the same funding as our regularly scheduled nights.
The nonprofit also plans on holding discount movie
nights. This could include student discounts on Thursday nights and special
event discounts (such as on voting days, honor roll discounts for children,
etc.). This would be in addition to other business-typical discounts, such as
those for military and senior citizens.
For the vintage car shows, we plan on exhibiting a
variety of classic cars from the Seguin area. Several of our stakeholders,
including Seguin Car Country and L&P Motorsports, often have vintage cars
in stock and ready to show. Additionally, we would open the show up to others
from the community and surrounding areas to show off their classic cars. A car
show would provide a monetary and commercial benefit to these businesses and
other individuals wishing to contribute to the show.
While it is true that Seguin already has a movie theater,
King Ranger Theater, we feel that Decades Drive-In will not pose a threat, but
will instead contribute to already existent entertainment. We do not feel that
our drive-in will reap customers from King Ranger because Decades Drive-In
provides a uniquely different service. At Decades Drive-In, we combine the
leisure of watching movies outdoors with the iconic nostalgia of
pre-twenty-first century drive-ins.
