Our organization is about promoting and rallying the citizens of Seguin as well as the corporation of Chick-fil-a in order to bring a future Chick-fil-a to the town by creating a survey and identifying benefits of having an establishment like this in Seguin, and what it will do for the local community, including residents, students, and visitors to Seguin.
If we succeed, we want to bring in more restaurants to Seguin in the future, providing an enhanced eating experience for anyone who wishes for more options in dining, especially since we will be well known and have established connections with the community. For quite awhile, students at Texas Lutheran have longed for a closer Chick-fil-a than New Braunfels, so there’s no doubt there are more popular dining establishments students and Seguin residents want closer to them such as Panda Express, Panera Bread, Which Wich, etc.
We will be satisfying the need of many Seguin residents and students, as well as making a difference in the community if we succeed. Chick-fil-a gets the community involved in events, sponsorships, donating food, fundraisers, offering scholarships, and events events like Daddy-Daughter Date Night. We hope that if this Chick-fil-a gets approved it will continue to make a positive change and impact on the community and customers.
You talked a little bit more about the community which was good, but I'm still concerned about the TLU students. In 2013-2014 TLU students had the option to bring Chick-Fil-A to campus and they didn't want it. My only question is, why is it different now?
ReplyDeleteWe want to bring a Chick-fil-a and other new dining opportunities to Seguin, not necessarily to TLU because we know that would affect the tuition and student fees and there would most likely be a limited menu. Having a full restaurant here would allow access to the Seguin community, as well as students who drive to New Braunfels every time they want a meal from there.
DeleteI think this is a great proposal, and many students including I would agree with bringing a Chick-Fil-A to the Seguin community. With a new option other than Whataburger, it would be refreshing to have a new restaurant and new opportunities
ReplyDeleteI like Chick Fil A as much as the next guy but what kind of demand is there for that restaurant specifically, at least in a small town like Seguin? There's already a perfectly good chicken place on my commute to campus, so what would make this Chick-Fil-A stand out from the competition? That being said, I'm all for it!
ReplyDeleteVery enticing proposal to any local resident/student in Seguin. As you are working to advocate for Chick-fil-a you should implement the restaurant's heavy focal points on family characteristics, as in how catering to the needs of family environment/qualities/etc. will be a leading factor in alluring the families in town and the ones travelling through.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your plan for conducting the survey, and how will you make use of it? You've established why Chick-fil-a is good for Seguin, but what makes it better than some of the other options you mentioned (not as in taste, but as in community benefits)?
ReplyDeleteWould a place like Chick-Fil-a survive in Seguin? your group survey alone is not convincing enough data to know if a new starting fast food restaurant in seguin would survive. Where would it be located? Since you're focusing on TLU students, will it be close to the campus?

Im a bit concerned that you say your future vision is to bring other restaurants to Seguin. While I think it would be very convenient to have these places available I've seen so many restaurants open and then close within months in Seguin. So what would guaranty that your organization could keep them all open and keep Seguin from making them close down?
ReplyDeleteI would recommend changing the wording of the introduction of the second paragraph. "If we succeed...", implies that there is a sense of doubt in the success of the organizations and donors or the community wouldn't want to see that in a proposal.
ReplyDeleteYes!! A Chik-Fil-A would be amazing. It may be wise to highlight their Christian beliefs, as Seguin is a pretty Christian place. I am curious to see how you make events to change the community using the Chik-Fil-A.
