Product, Programs and Services

We will partnering with the music festivals/ticket companies, such as Eventbrite and Austin City Limits, to price tickets appropriately to get the funding needed to contribute to “Hydration for Haiti”. With the higher priced ticket, 5-25% of the ticket purchase goes to our foundation. The money we receive goes to the purchasing of boxed water and cover shipping costs without those attending the concerts to have any extra costs.
In the future our we plan to have families available for sponsorship and we will have a photo and sponsorship information displayed upon the purchase of the ticket. Options to sign up will be available in the future of the program. To sponsor a family, it is a monthly investment $15.00 to provide enough water for a family of four. With the sponsorship comes bi-annual updates and letters may be exchanged between sponsors and sponsees. You can choose to cancel the sponsorship at anytime, and it is renewable at the end of the year if you would like to continue with the program. You may sponsor as many families as you would like. We also plan to lobby for government officials to help raise awareness to restore property rights in Haiti. With restored property rights and help from engineers, wells and other reservoirs will provide a reliable source of clean water to the citizens of Haiti.
We will be targeting a younger generation by focusing on concert/festival goers and simply redirecting the profit to a better cause. This will be a positive impact to the world without a noticeable cost to the patrons. The biodegradable boxed waters will ensure that families don't suffer from dehydration until we can provide a reliable source of clean water. Other non-profits seem to focus more on the need of water for children rather than by families. As a non-profit, what makes us unique, is how we reach out to people. Through music and joy, people will be giving to families in need. Using boxes to transport the water is different than other non-profits who use plastic bottles. Our concern is to help not only the people in Haiti, but the environment as well. We are spreading awareness of the need of water, and the fact that families cannot access water on their own land because of property rights.

  1. I just had a few questions.. Who do you plan on getting to play? How do you plan on getting them? How are you going to afford the fundraiser? And is it going to be set up like ACL if it costs the same? Just things to think about!

  2. How are you going to go about partnering up with such a major music festival such as ACL? How are you going to prove that your organization is going to do great things with the money you make?
I think that is a great music festival to partner up with... People come from out of the country, from different states and cities. It is a huge and diverse population, which if you advertise your organization there is a good chance someone would even offer to donate...

  3. How would people choose which family they get to sponsor? How would Haitians sign up to be apart of this on their end? Make sure you have a plan to make this known in Haiti so that they can be helped.

  4. Will you get more recent artist to play since you're targeting a younger demographic? And which type of artists are you going for? Are you going for more well known artists, and how will you get their attention, or are you trying to go for more unknown artists with lots of talent?

  5. This proposal is very thought out, no doubt. I do think partnering with other social groups in Austin in particular would be helpful to you though. In terms of reaching out to other societal movements that could go hand in hand with yours to then give it's full attention to a festival as big as Austin City Limits or SXSW. Doing so would put you at a higher advantage through the local counties to be seen as more effecient and effective rather than other groups in the general area that are attempting to do the same such as "Burundi" in austin. You defenitly have much to work with that coud defenitly put you in a spotlight.

  6. How much more will the higher priced ticket actually be, and what determines how much percentage you receive as a result (5-25%)? Do you think the higher price might deter some people from attending the music festivals? This is a great plan; I had a hard time finding something to question about it.

  7. Not to be a broken record with the rest, but partnering would be a good idea in your efforts, and in matter of entertainment, what is your target audience?

  8. Love this idea! Two questions, though:
    1) You say that, for example, you'd up the prices for ACL tickets to fund your nonprofit. You then say that this will happen at no extra cost to the consumer. I'm a little confused by that.
    2) Are there other organizations that already do this? I don't think it was addressed. If it was, my bad!
